Featured Venue: Phoenix Zoo
Those of you who know me well, know how special the Phoenix Zoo is to me. I grew up in the valley, and I have exceptionally fond childhood memories of exploring the Phoenix Zoo with my family. However, as an adult, my love for the zoo has deepened. Nothing provides me a better escape than being able to spend time with animals. Granted, I know they are in their habitats, and I do not get to interact with them directly (unless I am feeding a giraffe at the giraffe feeding area! Gosh, I love the giraffe’s long tongue and beautiful eye lashes!). Just being near animals and watching them be themselves makes me feel peaceful. No matter what worries may be on my mind, just taking a calm walk through the Phoenix Zoo, helps me put everything into perspective.
I guess this is why the fact we can host your beautiful wedding at the Phoenix Zoo is like icing on the cake for me! Two of my favorite things rolled into one place!
Let’s talk about all the Phoenix Zoo has to offer you for your wedding!
The Phoenix Zoo has 15 unique indoor and outdoor venues for a variety of wedding sizes and styles. However, I think this venue is perfect for the couple who is planning a wedding of about 100 guests and is interested in a unique, interactive wedding experience.
Let’s highlight a few of my favorites venue spaces at the zoo. We’ll first talk about Ruby’s House. For those of you who are like me and have lived in the valley for a long time, you may remember the lovable Asian Elephant named Ruby. She is probably best known for her lovely artwork – she was an avid painter. 🙂 Ruby’s House is an historic, quaint cottage dedicated to Ruby. The cottage and it’s surrounding patio offer a beautiful space for a ceremony or an intimate reception. The twinkle lights are standard in the space and create an inviting romantic atmosphere for your event.
Located in the Arizona Trail section of the Phoenix Zoo, the Desert Grove also offers a beautiful space for your ceremony or intimate reception. This desert style venue is surrounded by lush palo verde and mesquite trees decorated with beautiful twinkle lights. This intimate event space allows your guests to feel immersed in the beauty of the Arizona Sonoran Desert.
If you’re interested in a more tradition setting for your wedding, the C.W. & Modene Neely Education and Event Center may be the perfect fit for you. Surrounded by a gorgeous patio, with floor to ceiling windows, this space offers the best views of the entire zoo. Your guests will be enchanted as they gaze across the large lake in the center of the zoo, surrounding by the lush, tropical landscaping.
These three venues are simply my favorite – there are many more! The Phoenix Zoo has so many venue styles and sizes, they are able to accommodate a variety of different event needs. I think one of my favorite things about this venue is its built in natural beauty. Because each venue offers beautiful twinkle lighting and gorgeous lush landscaping, there isn’t the need for a lot of additional embellishment. You can create an elegant, romantic ambiance for your event with simple floral arrangements and minimal decor. I love venues that offer you natural ambiance – and the Phoenix Zoo is definitely one of those venues.
If you’re thinking the Phoenix Zoo might be the perfect place to host your wedding, I highly encourage you to schedule a site visit. The incredibly knowledgeable event staff at the Phoenix Zoo will meet with you to talk about your wedding vision, and help you determine what event space might be best for you.
